The Subconscious mind is the well of memory and emotion that contains all of the events in our entire life. Our subconscious minds hold the energetic emotional charges and create patterns in our life from these events.
Thoughts and Feelings about these events create BELIEFS. Beliefs about ourselves and the world around us. These beliefs are formed from events in our lives, some ordinary, some traumatic. They come from our social and tribal programming as a child. They come from influences in our environment, our religious training, and political and social upbringing. These all vary from person to person and their own unique experiences laced with their own personality. What is the same is that each individual creates their own thoughts and beliefs from a summation of all these things. Information is downloaded imputed and interpreted based on the individual, not necessarily the truth.
False or limiting beliefs are downloaded during a persons childhood and then they begin to play out and rehearse these beliefs in their everyday life, creating their own personal experience. Some of these beliefs are positive, but many are not. Many have concluded things about who we are and the world around us based on this earlier time in our lives. These beliefs become trapped or lodged in our body and hold an emotional charge in our physical bodies as well.
In order to release ourselves from these limiting beliefs, we need to be able to call them out and then work to neutralize and reprogram many of these beliefs so that we can begin living and experiencing something different. However, so many of the programs we run in our lives are doing so in the background of our minds, our Subconscious. Hypnotherapy is a powerful tool that works to get one in a relaxed, but natural state of mind to uncover many of these beliefs at their root cause and works to transform them. After this work is done, a trained therapist can then embed desired auto suggestions to help one achieve their goals and live out their intentions. This can only be done by removing the emotional charge and the limiting beliefs that one carries around with them.

No, hypnosis is a natural state of mind that is just above Delta which is sleep. Often times though many report having experienced deep relaxation as if they had just taken a nap.
Most sessions will take around 1 hour, although I have all clients schedule a 90minute session
The duration of therapy will really be dependent on one's circumstances and the reason for coming in. Some issues may only require one session, however, many issues require a longer-term committed approach with regular weekly sessions.
